10w5d - Ahhh, heat is good...so is a doppler

I'm happy to report that as of yesterday afternoon, our power was restored. Five nights of no power, no heat, no phones (VoIP doesn't work w/o power), no TV, no internet is just insane. Yes, I know others have had it worse and I feel for them, but this was my situation and I was soooo over it after about 2 days of 'camping in'. And it didn't help that the temps were dropping into the 20's overnight - BRRRR!!!

And on even better news, my doppler just arrived and I found the heartbeat!!!!! S/he moved after a few seconds and was hiding, so I couldn't measure it. Also, I swear I rented the digital version so I wouldn't have to count heartbeats, but I need to confirm that. Yay! My baby is still alive!!

GAH, that sucks. Glad you have power back.

YAY!!! I think those are the neatest inventions since sliced bread. Someday I hope to have one too.

Hey, I found out about your blog on the Pregnant despite high FSH board! I have rented a doppler too and I'm 17 weeks along and not sure if I've felt movement yet so I just get out my doppler and it makes me feel SO much better!

I am so happy that you got your power back. I was definitely lucky in that mine only stayed off for 24 hours. Sorry you had to go without power for so long!

I'm glad that you were able to find the heartbeat - yay!

I lose my mind when the power goes out.Hubby has some Amish friends and when we go to see them it always amazes me how they do w/o power in the house. (They do use a gas generator outside the shop.) I think no electric is the main reason they have so many kids ;)

Love the doppler idea...that wasn't available when I was PG..the home version I mean :)

I'm glad that your power is back on! Brr, it's been too cold lately not to have heat.

I'd be using that doppler every damn second of the day!

We were the same time without power - it's awful, isn't it? And it's been so cold!

Great news about the heartbeat. That will be so reassuring. I may have to look in to that!

Merry Christmas!
